When I first moved to the Sunshine Coast, I couldn’t get over the number of stunning and picturesque settings to have a wedding. There is a reason why it is such a popular destination for couples, with a range of wedding locations available, from beaches, parks, gardens, and even mountains.
A beautiful wedding location goes a long way in creating a perfect wedding day, and in this blog, we will explore some of the best wedding locations on the Sunshine Coast, including Noosa, Mapleton, and Point Arkwright.
Noosa Nuptials - A Popular Sunshine Coast Wedding Location
Noosa is a top pick for wedding locations on the Sunshine Coast due to its stunning beaches and natural beauty. Couples can choose to get married on the beach, with the sound of the waves crashing in the background onto the golden sand. Alternatively, they can opt for a more intimate setting in one of the many picturesque gardens or parks in the area. The Noosa Botanic Gardens, for example, offer a stunning location for weddings, with its beautifully manicured gardens and stunning river views.
To book a wedding ceremony in Noosa, check out the Noosa Council website for more information. They have a venue booking website with availability and important information about upcoming events in the Noosa area so that you can be aware of any festivals or events happening in and around your wedding date. You don't want to be trying to plan a wedding in Noosa on the same day as the Noosa Ironman for example!
Marry in Mapleton - Sunshine Coast Hinterland
Mapleton is another great Sunshine Coast wedding location, situated in the beautiful Hinterlands of the Sunny Coast. It offers couples a peaceful, rural setting with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. If you are after lush rainforest and waterfall backdrops for a romantic ceremony, the Mapleton Falls National Park is a popular spot. Other popular wedding venues in Mapleton include the local vineyards, which offer a more rustic and intimate setting for couples.
The Mapleton Lillyponds is also a pleasant option for couples seeking a more intimate or laid-back ceremony. I can set up under one of the many trees in the park or in an alcove alongside the beautiful lilyponds. Birds chirping in the background, and a bridge across the pond, plus it is just around the corner from The Mapleton Public House, so you can book a yummy lunch afterwards.
A less-familiar Sunshine Coast Wedding Spot - Point Arkwright
Point Arkwright is a lesser-known wedding location on the Sunshine Coast, but one that is well worth considering. This small headland is situated between Coolum and Yaroomba and offers stunning views of the ocean and the surrounding coastline. Couples can choose to get married on the headland itself, Andrew Street Park (just around the corner), or opt for a more secluded spot on the nearby beach.
I actually had my baby shower at Andrew Street Park and would recommend bringing cover for guests waiting for wedding parties, as there is limited shade. The gorgeous beach backdrop made for lovely photos, and the beach isn’t as crowded as Noosa or Mudjimba.
There are so many fantastic wedding spots up and down the Coast that it would be impossible to cover them all. I hope I’ve provided some #weddinginspo to help you select your perfect spot. Whether you're looking for a beach wedding in Noosa, a rustic ceremony in Mapleton, or a secluded spot on Point Arkwright, the Sunshine Coast has it all.
So why not consider this beautiful region for your special day?
